Irish singer and actress, Jessie Buckley is known for playing Anne Egerma in the West End rival of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music. Jessie Buckley was born on December 28, 1989, in Killarney, County Kerry under the birth sign Capricorn. She was born to Tim Buckley and Marina Ca s sidy, a vocal coach at the Ursuline Secondary School.
Buckley has a brother, Killian Buckley, and three sisters, Lily Buckley, Julie Buckley, and Eva Buckley.
She went to Ursuline Secondary School, An all-girls convent school in Thurles, County Tipperary. She also joined the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where she learned piano, clarinet, and harp.
Buckley is a member of the Tippery Millennium Orchestra. She also attended The Association Of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS) where she was recognized as a talented actress and was encouraged to apply for Drama School in London. Jessie Buckley started off her acting career as a competitor in I'd Do Anything where she secured the second position, lost to Jodie Prenger, who won the title of Nancy to play in a London West End stage Revival of Oliver. She made her West End debut in a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music.
On September 14, 2008, Buckley sang a solo song I Don't Know How To Love Him and Light At The End Of The Tunnel at the Andrew Lloyd Webber's Birthday in the park show in Hyde Park, London. She performed along with Niamh Perry, Keisha Amponsa-Banson, Rachael Tucker.
The same on September 18, Buckley performed with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at an Andrew Lloyd Webber evening at the National Concert Hall in Dublin alongside Aoife Mulholland.
Buckley even performed at the charity concert in Tipperary, where she announced that she would be starting rehearsals for A Little Night Music in London the following Monday.
In 2013, she portrayed the character of Miranda in The Tempest at the Shakespeare's Globe. Buckley also played Emily Strong in Rosamunde Pilcher's four-part TV adaptation of her book Shades of Love. This was aired in September of the same year.
