Jeff Gutt

Jeff Gutt is a musician and vocalist from the Metro Detroit area and known as the former lead vocalist of the metal band Dry Cell. He gained popularity after competing in the 2012 and 2013 seasons of the X-Factor. His performance of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah in the competition was a big hit and brought him huge recognition.

Early Life, Bio, And Family 

Jeff Gutt was born on 2 May 1976  and spent most of his childhood in St. Clair Country, in southeast Michigan with his family. He attended Marine City High School in both Algonac and Marine City. He graduated in the year 1994. Jeff was interested in music since his childhood.

Jeff Gutt was involved with the band name Innerfaith during his high school days. He started to gain popularity being in the band and was the frontman of Interfaith. He with his friend Matt Brooks on ba s s, Jeff Sankuer on drums, and Patrick Sankuer on the guitar lead the band in a very smooth way.

Dry Cell 

The Dry cell was his next famous band where he was the lead vocalist. The band members were Danny Hartwell, Judd Gruenbaum, and Brandon Brown. Jeff Gutt left the band in 2004 and rejoined in 2005. Before leaving the band, Jeff along with the band released their song 'Disconnected' in the year 2002. 

Before the band released the compilation in early 2010, 'The Dry Cell Collection', the band paused its work for two years and then got reunited with the same members. Then Jeff Gutt again left the band Dry Cell. 

X-Factor, Hallelujah

Jeff Gutt continued to be in the musical line and participated in The X Factor in the 2012 season. That was the time he gained popularity and increased his fanfare. The original judging of the show consisted of Simon Cowell, Cheryl, and Paula Abdul. His performance of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah on the competition was a big hit. Jeff Gutt again returned to X factor in 2012 and made his way till final grabbing the runner-up position.    

Before being in X factor, Jeff Gutt was in the in Acrylic Band with no name and punch. This band was released, in 2005, by Jeff Gutt along with his friends. The band, with their 5 track released in 2007, also won the 89X & TNTs Battle of The Bands in Michigan and received $10,000 and studio time to record a new EP.

After X factor

Jeff Gutt, in January 2014 launched his new band named Rival City Heights. He wrote three songs for the band, Bittersweet, Shadows in Light, and Your Name. Then again in 2014, Jeff released 'A Detroit Christmas' as his solo.

Jeff Gutt, with his band Rival City Heights, toured the Middle East with Alia Foundation. The band has recently released its debut single 'Take it Back' on 19 February 2016.
