Jayne Atkinson is an actress of American nationality who is known best for the portrayal of Karen Hayes on 24 as well as her appearances in the CBS drama Criminal Minds. She was born on the 18th of February, 1959 in Bournemouth, Dorset, England and owing to her acting skills and credits, bio and career details about her have been widely searched by fans and critics around the world.
Atkinson was brought up in United States where she moved to with her family at the mere age of 9. She was enrolled in the Pine Crest School after which she studied from the Northwestern University with a BA Communications degree. She also attended the Yale Drama School and worked in regional theatres next. She appeared first in the off Broadway production of Bloody Poetry on 1987 and made her Broadway debut for All My Sons on the same year. Apart from her stints of productions, she has also appeared on films like the 12 and Holding, Free Willy, Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home, The Village, Syriana etc. She has also made appearances on several television series and shows like A Year in the Life of Parenthood, Law and Order, The Practice, The X-Files, House of Cards, Gossip Girl, Criminal Minds, 24 and her appearance of Pour Town, which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the Satellite Awards.

They had been boyfriend and girlfriend prior to their marriage from the year 1989 and decided to tie the knot on the 3rd of October, 1998. They have been together since.
