Jared Rushton is a former American actor turned singer. After making appearances in such movies as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Big, Pet Sematary Two, and Overboard, Jared tried his hand at music and is currently the guitarist for the rock band, Deal by Dusk.

Jared Rushton was only 12 when he earned his first on-screen role in a 1986 episode of the television series, Tales from the Darkside. He went on to appear in the TV series, Cagney & Lacey and Top Kids, before landing a big-screen role in 1987 movie, Overboard. He portrayed the role of Charlie Proffitt, son of Kurt Russell’s character, Dean Proffitt.
The following year, Rushton was cast alongside Tom Hanks in Big. In the next few years, Rushton appeared in a litany of different movies and television shows-most notable for his appearance on an episode of the crime-drama, Murder, She Wrote as Travis Harmon and a three-episode stint on the TV sitcom, Roseanne as Chip Lang.
He also appeared in such movies as the 1989 family-comedy, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and the 1992 sequel to the popular horror movie Pet Semetary, Pet Sematary Two.
His guest appearances also included Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Northern Exposure, ER, Cracker: Mind Over Murder, among others. He ended his career as an established movie star and with multiple award nominations, including Saturn Awards and Young Artist Awards, under his belt.
After officially retiring from the film business in 2000, Jared turned to music as his next endeavor. He started as the singer and guitarist for the indie band, Withdrawal, with his brother Ryan Rushton. Presently, Jared plays guitar for the LA-based psychedelic rock band, Deal by Dusk.
