Jamie Camil was born on 22nd June 1973 in Mexico City, Mexico. He was born to parents Jaime Camil Garza and Cecilia Saldaña Da Gama. Jamie spent most of his childhood days with his siblings, Issabela Camil, Jorge Camil Starr, Melissa Trouyet Starr, Alexia Camil Starr, and Kali Sotres Starr. Jamie’s father is a Mexican businessman while his mother is a Brazilian singer. Camil was set to run his father’s business but he went on to study acting in New York, Los Angeles and Mexico. He also took opera cla s ses in Italy.
Career and path
Jamie made his debut in the 2004 movie, Punos Rosas as character Randy Garza. Since then he has been seen in movies like Zapata: El sueño de un héroe, Regresa, Chiapas, el corazón del café, Zero Hour, Pulling Strings, Los árboles mueren de pie and more. Camil made his TV debut in 2000 in Mi Destino eres tu. Since then he has played many roles in Mujer de Madera, La Familia P. Luche, Las tontas no van al Cielo, Los exitosos Pérez, Por ella soy Eva, Devious Maids, and Qué pobres tan ricos. Jamie is noted for playing the role of Rogelio De La Vega in CW network’s comedy series, Jane the Virgin. He is also the co-producer of 2012’s Chiapas, el corazón del café. He has contributed a lot in the acting arena.
