Jack Coleman is an American actor best known for portraying Steven Carrington in the 1980s soap opera Dynasty. His other notable roles are in Heroes (2006–2010), The Office (2010–2013) and Castle (2012–2015). He has been married to actress Beth Toussaint with who he shares daughter Tess Coleman.

Jack Coleman was born as John MacDonald Coleman on February 21, 1958, in Easton, Pennsylvania. He is a sixth-generation descendant of Benjamin Franklin. Jack spent most of his childhood days in Pennsylvania.
He went on to attend The Solebury School and Duke University. He was really interested in acting, thus decided to pursue acting as a career. He graduated from Duke in 1980. After that, Coleman went on to attend the National Theater Institute at The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center to focus on his acting career.
Acting Career
Coleman made his debut on screen in the soap opera Days of Our Lives as the character Jake Kositchek also dubbed as The Salem Strangler. He was seen for a year in Days of Our Lives.
Later, in 1982, he began appearing in Dynasty as the character Steven Carrington, who is one of the first gay characters on television. Coleman went on to be seen in Dynasty until 1988.
He was then seen in many series like The Love Boat as character Scott Barrett, Bridesmaids as Matt, Daughter of Darkness as Devlin, Children of the Bride as Dennis, The Return of Eliot Ness as Gil Labine, Nightmare Café as Frank Nolan for six of its episodes, Angels in the Endzone as Peter Harper, two episodes of The Naked Truth as Colin Terell, eleven episodes of Oh Baby as the recurring character Rick, Replacing Mark as character Dr. Mark Chandler, thirteen episodes of Kingdom Hospital as character Peter Rickman.
His most noted role came in 2006 with the series Heroes where he was seen in 64 episodes as character Noah Bennet. He has been seen in 14 episodes of The Office as State Senator Lipton. He also has been seen in 5 episodes of The Vampire Diaries, 6 episodes of Castle, 11 episodes of Burn Notice and six episodes of Scandal.
He is also noted for his role Noah Bennet in the TV miniseries Heroes Reborn. He has also appeared in various movies like The Pursuit of Happiness, Foreign Student, Spawn and Beautiful Loser to name a few.
