Hattie Morahan
Hattie Morahan is an English television, stage, and film actress who was born on 7th March 1978 in Lambeth, London, England. She is the younger daughter of well-known actress Anna Carteret and film and television director Christopher Morahan.
Hattie Morahan went to Frensham Heights School and graduated with a BA in English from New Hall, Cambridge in 2000. While studying at Cambridge Hattie appeared and directed in student productions, including A View from the Bridge. She played the role of Catherine which made her win ‘the most outstanding performance award at the National Student Drama Festival. Her all family members were in the entertainment business so it was not a surprise for anyone that she also chooses the path of becoming an actress.
Hattie Morahan made her career debut at the early age of 17, with the role of Una Gwithian in a two-part BBC television adaptation of The Peac* * k Spring which was directed by her father Christopher Morahan. Hattie then joined the Royal Shakespeare Company making her theater debut at Stafford-upon-Avon in Love in a Wood in 2001. The London-born star suddenly became director’s favorite and she was cast several movies and theater shows.
Hattie Morahan appeared in the leading role as Penelope Toop, in Douglas Hodge’s touring revival of Philip King’s hit farce See How They Run. Then in 2006, she showed up as Nina in Katie Mitchell’s staging of Chekhov’s The Seagull. She was also the part of several television dramas and her TV credits include Bodies, Outnumbered, Bike Squad and so on.
Hattie Morahan career enhancing performance was as Elinor Dashwood in BBC One’s three-part adaption, by Andrew Davies, of Jane Austen’s novel Sense and Sensibility.
