Giancarlo Esposito who started his career at the tender age of 8 is an actor as well as a director who is famous for his role, Gustavo "Gus" Fring on the AMC shows Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. His outstanding performance led him to win the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama and was also nominated for an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards. His other notable movies and tv series include Fresh, The Usual Suspects, King of NewYork, Revolution, The Get Down and many more.

Giancarlo Esposito was born Giancarlo Giuseppe Alessandro Esposito on 26 April 1958 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was born under the birth sign Taurus. His father is Giovanni Esposito, an Italian stagehand and carpenter from Naples and her mother is Elizabeth Foster, an African American opera and nightclub singer.   

Until the age of 6, he grew up in Denmark and then Esposito along with his family moved to Manhattan, New York. Regarding his education, he attended Elizabeth Seton College in New York and received a two-year degree in radio and television communications.

Giancarlo Esposito stepped into the acting industry when he was just 8 years old. He starred in the short-lived musical, Maggie Flynn (1968) where he portrayed the role of slave child opposite Shirley Jones. 

Then he appeared in the movies like Taps, Maximum Overdrive, King of New YorkTrading Places, Desperately Seeking Susan, Sweet Lorraine and Do the Right Thing. Giancarlo came to the people's notice when he appeared in the movie King of the New York in the role of Lance.

His other notable appearances in the movies include Malcolm X, Nothing to Lose, Twilight, Phoenix, and Last Holiday. He has also appeared in several TV series. From 1993-1998, his outstanding performance in the tv series, Homicide: Life on the Street gave him huge fame and made him a star on the silver screens.

Giancarlo also starred in the AMC shows including Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad for which he got nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award and in 2012 he won the Critics' Choice Television Awards under the category for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. 

He also reprised his role as Gustavo Gus Fring in the Breaking Bad prequel series, Better Call Saul in 2017. As of 2018, Giancarlo is working on Westworld, Dallas & Robo. During his successful career, he has shared the screen with the Hollywood stars like Wesley SnipesMelissa LeoJon PolitoJennifer Love HewittAisha Tyler.

Regarding his personal life, Giancarlo was previously married to Joy McManigal in 1995. Together the couple has four children; all daughters named.  Kale Lyn Esposito, Syrlucia Esposito, Ruby Esposito, and Shayne Lyra Esposito.

After being in a relationship for many years, the pair divorced. The reason when and why Giancarlo divorced his wife is unknown. As of 2018, he is possibly single as there is no news of his affairs and relationship. He is living a low-key life with his family.
