Garret Dillahunt is an American actor well known for his performance in the sitcom Raising Hope where he portrayed the role of Burt Chance. He debuted in the small screen in 1993 in the TV series One Life to Live and made his movie debut in 1999 in the movie Last Call. Some of his other popular movie and television roles include Ty Walker in Justified, Francis Wolcott in Deadwood, John Dories in Fear the Walking Dead, Armsby in 12 Years a Slave, and Eddie Mattie in Killing Them Softly. Before debuting on the big screen, he was doing on and off Broadway for many years.

Early Life And Education Of Garret Dillahunt

Garret Dillahunt was born Garret Lee Dillahunt on November 24, 1964, in Castro Valley, California in the United States. His family moved to Selah, Washington where he spent most of his childhood with his two brothers Brett Dillahunt and Eric Dillahunt. His brother Eric died in 1981 in an accident in Yakima Washington.   

Dillahunt enrolled at the University of Washington to get a degree in B.A in journalism. For his Masters in Fine Arts degree, he studied at the Tisch School of the Arts to attend New York University's Graduate Acting Program.

Garret Dillahunt debuted in the entertainment industry in 1993 with Television series One Life to Live where he appeared in the role of Charlemagne Moody. After that, he was cast in numerous TV series and got movie offers along the way.   

He made his movie debut in 1999 in the Last Call and the following years appeared in movies like The Believer, No Country for Old Men, The Assa s sination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Pretty Bird.

From 2008 to 2009 in the series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles he appeared as Cromartie, a T-888 robot who is sent back in time to kill John Connor, Sarah Connor's son. In 2013, he appeared as Armsby in 12 Years a Slave movie.

Dillahunt has been a part of several popular television series. He recieved international fame after appearing in the 85 episodes of the American sitcom Raising Hope in the role of  Burt Chance.

Some of his hit series include The Mindy Project where he was cast for 39 episodes and ABC's Showtime, The X Files and NYPD Blues. He also appeared in various super hit TV series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Minds, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Lie to Me and Memphis Beat.

Dillahunt is cast in the American post-apocalyptic drama Fear the Walking Dead portraying the role of John Dorie whose season 4 premiered on April 15, 2018. He is cast in some awaited 2018 movies like The Long Home, Rounding Third and Widow.

In the indie drama movie The Long Home, he is cast in the role of Bellwether alongside James Franco who is also the director of that movie and in the thriller film Widow, he will appear alongside Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Debicki.
