Brazilian singer and composer Gabriel Diniz has died at the age of 28. Multiple outlets have reported that he died in a plane crash in Brazil.

As per reports, the singer was flying from Salvador to his girlfriend, Karoline Calheiros’ birthday party in Maceio on Monday when the plane crashed in the town of Porto Do Mato, Estancia, on the southern coast of Sergipe, Brazil.

The military police have confirmed the news to the local news media Grupo Globo’s G1.com that the singer and pilots; Linaldo Xavier and Abraao Farias have perished in the accident.

The exact reason for the crash is still under investigation.

Gabriel Diniz, who started his professional career in 2008, is widely known for his 2016 hit “Paraquedas” had released new single Jenifer last fall.

His final post on Instagram shows his performing at a concert in Feira de Santana, Brazil over the weekend. He captioned the post:

Football player Roberto Firmino, who was good friends with the late singer, has paid tribute on Instagram. He posted a video of Gabriel performing at his wedding in 2017.

On the other side, Roberto’s wife Larissa Pereira offered her condolences via Instagram.
