In March 2012, he confirmed his engagement with Jessica during an interview with Bad Show on Dallas sports radio. According to him, he engaged to her in 2012 valentine's day's eve in Germany.
Five months later, Dirk and Jessica got married on July 20, 2012. Their wedding ceremony was held in Kenya and they married in a traditional African wedding style.

The NBA champion Dirk and his wife have three wonderful babies and they are living happily with their parents. In July 2013, they gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Malaika.

He started playing handball and tennis during his childhood. Later, he joined DJK Wurzburg and began playing basketball.
There, he was inspired by former international basketball player Holger Geschwindner. Holger was impressed by Dirk’s talent and coached him individually three times per week.
After that, he played in the senior team for the DJK and played from 1994 to until 1998.
Dirk’s career in Dallas Mavericks
In 1998, Dallas Mavericks drafted him for NBA tournament. Then he started playing for the Dallas and he is still playing for the club. During his time with Dallas, he won several titles in the NBA tournament.
