Mexican professional football player, Diego Antonio Reyes currently plays for Portuguese club, FC Porto as a center-back. Reyes has been representing the club since 2012 after making a transfer from Club América. He has been listed in Mexico’s 28-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

América

Diego Antonio Reyes was considered as one of the youngest prospects of the club América. On 25^th April 2010, at the age of 17, he made his debut for the team in a league match against Santos Laguna. He scored his first goal during the Clausura 2011 tournament against Estudiantes Tecos.

By the end of season 2012-13, he appeared in 93 games scoring 2 goals.

Porto

On 1^st July 2013, Reyes was transferred from América to Portuguese team, FC Porto for a €7 million ($8.25 million) transfer fee. He made his debut for the club in the 3-0 victory over French club Marseille.

Real Sociedad

Reyes was transferred from Porto to Real Sociedad on 14^th July 2015 on a season-long loan deal. On 22^nd August 2015, he made his debut for the club in 0-0 draw match against Deportivo de La Coruna. At the end of season 2016-17, he appeared in 28 games scoring 2 goals.

Espanyol

Reyes joined Spanish side Espanyol on 31^st August 2016 on a season-long loan deal. He scored his first goal for the club in a 0-1 defeat over Real Bites.

In 2009, Diego Antonio Reyes was selected by Jose Luis Gonzalez China (coach) to represent Mexico in the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship. The following year, he played in the under-20 team in the Milk Cup. In 2011, coach Juan Carlos Chavez listed Reyes in the squad to play in the CONCACAF Under-21 Championship.

Reyes also participated in the under-23 national team in 2011 Pan American Games. He played every match in the 2012 Summer Olympics including a 2-1 win over Brazil.

On 25^th March 2013, he made his senior debut in a 2014 World Cup qualification match against the US. He also played in the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup in a 4-0 victory over Japan.
