The 28-year old Derrick Martell Rose is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. He became the leader of the Chicago Bulls after being drafted 1st in the year of 2008. He was traded to the New York Knicks in 2016. Derrick Martell Rose was born on October 4, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois. He is the youngest son of the Brenda Rose after Allan, Reggie, and Dwayne. Regarding his nationality and ethnicity, Derrick is a white American. Raised without a father in the tough Englewood, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods on Chicagos South Side.

Derrick was listed in the nation's best high school point guard, averaged 25.2 points and guided Simeon to a 33-2 record during his high school season. Following his senior year, he was named by the Chicago Tribune as 2007 "Illinois Mr. Basketball Player."
