David Luiz Moreira Marinho is a Brazilian footballer who was born on April 22, 1987 in Diadema. He professionally plays football as a defender with squad number 4 from theBrazilian national football team and from Chelsea Football Club. Playing football was his most favourite pa s stime as a child. He was born to Ladislau Marinho and Regina Celia Marinho. He has a sibling named Isabelle Moreira Marinho.
Career (Vitoria, Benfica and Chelsea)
David began his career in his homeland Brazil with the Club Vitoria, he made his debut as a teenage left-back and caught the attention of the national team set-up as he represented Brazil at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Canada.Moving to Benfica in 2007,he missed almost all of his first season through injury but, once recovered, was converted into a centre-back.In that position,he impressed so much he was named Portugal's Player of the Year in 2010. Starting all but one game in Benfica's title-winning season, he also caught the eye of new Brazil coach Mano Menezes and made his senior debut against the United States a month after the World Cup.
David oficially moved to Chelsea on 30th January 2011.On 1 March, David Luiz scored his first goal for Chelsea, firing in a half volley to help the Blues come from behind to win 2–1 against Manchester United, at Stamford Bridge and with a late penalty kick by Frank Lampard , Chelsea got their wininng score. On 20 March, he scored his second goal for the Blues, heading in from a free kick against Manchester City, and again receiving the Man of the match award, as well as the Player of the Month for March.The team from where he plays i.e. Chelsea has already lifted SuperLiga in 2010, Confederations Cup in 2013, FA Cup in 2012, Champions League in 2012 and Europa League in 2013.On 7 September 2012, he became the captain on the Barzilian national team.
