Canadian journalist, Chris Gailus currently serves as the TV news anchor for Global BC. He has been involved in his professional journalism career since 1992.
Gailus is also known for his role as a news anchor in the movie, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Early Life
Chris Gailus was born on October 29, 1967, in Canada. Regarding his nationality, he is Canadian and belongs to the White ethnicity. His birth sign is Scorpio.
Gailus graduated from Mount Royal University in Calgary in 1989 at Broadcast Journalism Program. He made on Dean's list during his college days and used to play basketball.
Career
After completing his graduation, Gailus moved to Lethbridge, Alberta and worked there for three years. In 1992, he was hired by CFCN-TV and later shifted to CICT-TV.
Gailus joined WFAA-TV in Dallas in 2000 as a morning news anchor. After serving for three years in WFAA-TV, he then moved to WBYW and run the programme, Good Day New York.
In 2006, Gailus returned to Canada and worked as a weekend anchor in CHAN-TV. Currently, he served as the host of Monday to Friday editions of the News Hour after Tony Parson left the channel.
Chris Gailus received Emmy's Award in the best journalist category. He also earned Candian Screen Awards for Newscast, Large Market. Besides this, Gailus was awarded country's best local news anchor from Canadian Screen.
Personal life
Chris Gailus is happily married to his fellow anchor, Jane Carrigan. The duo first encounter on the TV station of WFAA where both served as an anchor.
In August 2011, the pair adopted a son, William Alexander Gailus. Currently, he is living a blissful married life with his wife and son in Canada.
