Charles deWolf Gibson known as Charles Gibson or Charlie is a former American anchor and journalist of broadcasting television. He was a host of the most syndicated American morning show called Good Morning Show called Good Morning America from 1987-1998 and from 1999- 2006 as well as an anchor of World News with Charles Gibson from 2006-2009.
Early Life And Education of Charles Gibson
Born in the year 1943 March 9 at Evanston, Illinois to the parents Georgianna Law and Burdett Gibson, Charles Gibson is a great-nephew of Charles Dana Gibson. He has American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.
Charles grew up in Washington D.C and had attended the Sidwell Friends School which is a private college-preparatory school in Washington. He graduated from Princeton University in 1965. He used to work in the University’s student-run radio station as the news director.

He was active in the broadcasting television from 1965 till 2009. For his excellent performance in broadcasting television as a journalist and host, he has been awarded the National Journalism Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Humanities. He has been honored with the Paul White award in 2006 by the Radio Television Digital News Association and by Quinnipiac University in 2008 with Fred Friendly First Amendment award.
In 1966, he joined the RKO general as a producer and later began to work as a reporter and anchor for WLVA, now WSET television. In 1970, he joined a WMAL-TV now WJLA television. After four years, he moved to the TVN in 1974 as a reporter and anchor. The highlights of his work from TVN include the Watergate scandal investigations and the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
In 1975 he joined at ABC network as a field correspondent. He worked as White House correspondent from 1976-1977 and general a s signment reporter from 1977-1981, House of Representatives from 1981-1987 and also became the correspondent and fill in anchor for the syndicated program World News Tonight with Peter Jennings and also the substitute anchor for Nightline and World News This Morning.
Since 1987, he began to co-anchor the most-watched morning show on American television, Good Morning America. In 2005, he became the substitute anchor for World News Tonight as the Peter Jennings, the regular host of the program, died due to lung cancer.
In 2006, the title of the show was changed to World News with Charles Gibson. He ran the program until 2009 and decided to retire as an anchor.
During his tenure, he had helped the ABC network to grow and become successful and one of the most watched television shows in America. He has won several reputed awards and recognition for his work. Gibson has reached the age of 71. The retiring age, but still he has the same enigma and enthusiasm towards his work.
