Career in acting
Catherine Tyldesley made her debut with the role of a Midwife in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, appearing in only one episode in 2006. In the same year, she also appeared in singular episodes of ‘Holby City’ as Mackenzie James and ‘Sorted’ as a female viewer. In 2007, she was cast in the BBC drama as a series regular for the role of Iris Moss, one of the three protagonists of the series. The story is set in the years immediately after the First World War and, as such, the after effects of that conflict are apparent. In the same year, she also made an appearance in a single episode of ‘The Street’ for the role of Grace.
In 2008, Tyldesley was cast in the TV Film ‘Florence Nightingale’ as Parthenope. She was also seen in one of the episodes of British medical soap opera, Doctors, as Lynne Hammerson. In 2009, she appeared in ‘Red Riding’ as Tessa. Tyldesley then got the role of Psycho Sarah in the British comedy sketch show, Scallywagga, as a series regular. She made an appearance in Holby City again, this time as Jody Stevens. She also had recurring roles in the British soap opera ‘Emmerdale’ as Abi Peterson and a single role in comedy television series sitcom ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ as Amy.
In 2011, Tyldesley again got a role in Coronation Street. Only this time, it was a regular role of Eva Price, a spoiled rotten drama queen living a glamorous lifestyle. She also had recurring roles in the British sitcom ‘Trollied’ as Emma. Since then, she has also made guest appearances in ‘Loose Women’, ‘I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! NOW!’, ‘Life On Murs’, ‘Lorraine’, ‘Through the Keyhole’ and as a contestant in ‘All Star Family Fortunes’.
In June 2012, Catherine Tyldesley admitted that men get intimidated and do not seem to approach her due to her on-screen character in Coronation Street. However, she began dating Tom Pitfield and got engaged to him in 2014. They welcomed a son on 18 March 2015 before getting married on May 21, 2016, at Colshaw Hall, Cheshire. As of now, she and her husband aren’t expecting more children anytime soon. Being a successful celebrity, her net worth is estimated to be in millions.
