 William Camp was born on October 13, 1964, in Ma s sachusetts, to Patricia Camp, a librarian, and Peter Camp, the a s sistant headmaster at the Groton School. As of December 2020, Bill Camp is 56 years old. 

Bill grew up in Lowell, Ma s sachusetts, where his father was not only an a s sistant headmaster but also the director of the Groton-Lowell Upward Bound Program for underprivileged youth. Bill attended the University of Vermont in Burlington and earned his Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from the prestigious Julliard School in New York City.

Career

Bill Camp made his professional acting debut in 1989 and in the three decades since, has made a name for himself as a character actor. He has enjoyed eminent success both on-stage and on-screen.

On television, Camp has had several notable roles including Glenmore in the HBO period crime-drama Boardwalk Empire, William Hogarth in the WGN America drama series Manhattan, David Burton in the HBO supernatural mystery drama The Leftovers, Dennis Box in the HBO crime-drama The Night Of, Robert Chesney in the Hulu miniseries The Looming Tower, and Howard Salomon in the HBO horror crime drama The Outsider.

Most recently, he played Mr. Shaibel in the Netflix drama miniseries The Queen's Gambit starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
