Early Life And Education of Alun Armstrong 

Alun Armstrong was born on 17th July 1946 in Annfield Plain, County Durham, England under the birth sign Cancer.  His father was a coal miner and both his parents were Methodist lay preachers.

Armstrong went to the Annfield Plain Junior School. During his school days, he decided to pursue acting during his school days. He also played Petruchio in the Shakespearean comedy The Taming of the Shrew.

In 1964, Armstrong took part in the National Youth Theatre Summer School. Since he was not accepted at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, he studied art at Newcastle University instead. However, he was expelled after two years due to poor attendance.

For some time, Armstrong worked as a bricklayer and a gravedigger. Later, he found work as an assistant stage manager at the Cambridge Arts Theatre. He began his acting career performing in radio plays for BBC Radio 4.

Alun Armstrong is an English character actor who was born in the year 1946 on July 17 at Annfield Plain, County Durham, England. He is active in the acting arena since 1971 till present.

Alun Armstrong became first interested in acting through Shakespeare productions at his grammar school. He made his screen debut in the year 1971 in the movie Get Carter. He appeared in a number of movies afterward.

Armstrong usually played supporting roles in the movies. He can be seen in small roles in the movies A Bridge Too Far (1977), Krull (1983), Patriot Games (1992), Braveheart (1995), The Mummy Returns (2001), Millions (2004), Oliver Twist (2005) and Eragon (2006).

Besides appearing in movies, Armstrong has also appeared in more than 80 different roles in television productions in the course of his career. He has been playing on television since 1971. Mention some of the television appearances, he appeared as Brian Lane in the BBC’s New Tricks.
