Early Life and Education
Alex Brooker was born on 15th of May, 1984 in Croydon, England, United Kingdom. Unfortunately, Alex was born with hand and arm deformities and a twisted right leg. The leg had to be amputated when he was a baby. His parents raised him with great compassion and care. Alex was a very courageous child and he never let his physical disability be his weakness.
Alex Brooker attended Norton Knatchbull School in Ashford, Kent and completed his schooling from there. After that, he attended Liverpool John Moores University and graduated from there in 2006.
Career and path
After graduating, Alex Brooker started to work as a sports reporter on the Liverpool Echo. Later in 2012, Alex Brooker entered Channel 4’s Half a Million Quid Talent Search. The program aimed to find disabled talent for coverage of the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games. Alex Brooker first appeared as a trackside reporter on Channel 4’s coverage of the 2011 BT Paralympic World Cup.
Besides this, Alex Brooker has already co-hosted The Last Leg with Adam Hills. Moreover, Alex interviewed the likes of Boris Johnson and David Cameron during the 2012 Summer Paralympics opening ceremony. Not only that, he was also on The Last Leg of the Year, an end year special with Adam Hills and Josh Widdicombe. He has been working as a co-host on The Last Leg on Channel since the year 2013. In the same year, he hosted a one –off documentary about body image on Channel 4.
In early 2014, Alex Brooker co-presented the first series of the reality show The Jump on Channel 4. However, he did not continue in the second series of the show. Recently in 2016, he presented The Superhumans Show on Channel 4. He is an inspiration to disabled people all around the world. Currently, he wears a prosthetic leg.
Alex Brooker fronted a campaign called “End of The Awkward” by disability charity Scope. He also appeared in advertisements guiding viewers through awkward situations that they might encounter as a disabled person. He won The Million Pound Drop Live in September 2012.
