American actress and model Margaret Ann Lipton AKA Peggy Lipton is no more with us. She died on Saturday, 11th May, at the age of 72.

In a statement, Peggy’s daughters from her marriage to music producer Quincy Jones confirmed that she died on Saturday because of cancer.

Kidada Jones and Rashida Jones, in a statement, revealed that their mother made her journey peaceful with her daughters and nieces by her side. They also claimed that they feel lucky for every moment they spent with her.

The pair also added:

We can’t put all of our feelings into words right now, but we will say: Peggy was and will always be our beacon of light, both in this world and beyond,

She will always be a part of us.

Peggy, who was born on August 30, 1946, in New York, started her professional career in 1965. She previously worked as a model before landing her first television role at the age of nineteen.

Peggy has appeared in numerous movies and television series like The Postman, Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces, A Dog's Purpose, The John Forsythe Show, The Hitchhiker, The Mod Squad, Twin Peaks, Claws, Psych, House of Lies, and many others.

Peggy was previously married to Grammy award-winning producer Quincy Jones. The pair got married in 1974 but got separated in 1986, eventually leading to divorce in 1990. The pair has two children together; Rashida and Kidada Jones.
