Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. She is an American producer and actress. Her father Dr. John Draper Witherspoon was a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve and her mother Mary Elizabeth was a professor of nursing.
Laura Reese's parents got separated in 1966. She was raised in Tennessee with her older brother. Laura had begun her career as a child actress.
Education and career
Laura Reese attended middle school at Harding Academy and graduated from Harpeth Hall School in Nashville. During her school time, she was a cheerleader. She has majored in English literature from the Stanford University. She left the university after a year to pursue an acting career.
In the year 1991, Laura Reese attended an open casting for The Man in the Moon for auditioning as a bit player, instead, she got cast in the lead role. Laura's performance on the film was regarded as very memorably touching by many magazines. Followed by that, in the year 1993, she appeared in the CBS miniseries named Return to Lonesome Dove. In 1996, she appeared in two major films Fear and Freeway. The film received positive reviews and response from the press.

In the year 2013, Laura Reese began her production from the film named The Good Lie. The film was based on a real-life event of an American woman. She has also served as a producer on the film named Gone Girl, which was based on Gillian Flynn’s novel. In the year 1997, at her 21st birthday party, Laura Reese met an actor named Ryan Phillippe and they got engaged in December 1998. The couple got married on 5th June 1999 at Old Wide Awake Plantation. She has two children from her husband, one daughter named Ava Elizabeth Phillippe and a son named Deacon Reese Phillippe. Unfortunately, the couple got separated in 2006.
After her divorce, it became clear that Laura and her co-star Jake Gyllenhaal were having an affair. She reportedly broke up with her boyfriend in 2009. In early 2010, it was reported that Laura was dating a talent agent named Jim Toth. The couple got engaged in December 2010 and got married on 26th March 2011.
