Danuta Stenka is a Polish stage and screen actress. Considered one of the premier Polish theatre and cinema actresses. Stenka has appeared in nearly 90 films and television shows.  

Danuta Stenka was born in Sierakowice, Pomorskie, Poland on October 10, 1961. She is 58 years old as of August 2020. 

Career Highlight

Danuta Stenka started her acting career as a stage actress, having a decade-long spell performing at Teatr Dramatyczny in Warsaw, Poland, starting in 1991.

She went on to perform with the TR Warszawa performing arts theatre, also in Warsaw and found critical acclaim and recognition for her performance in plays like The Taming of the Shrew, Electra, Krum, Angels in America, and Apollonia.

She joined the ensemble of the National Theatre in Warsaw in 2003 and took on roles in plays by such directors as Robert Wilson in the play Lady from the Sea; Grzegorz Jarzyna in the play Giovanni; and Maja Kleczewska in the plays Phaedra, Marat/Sade, and Oresteia.  

Stenka made her on-screen debut in 1990 as part of the Polish historical crime miniseries Crimen. Her feature film debut came in 1992 in the comedy-drama Moscow Station

She went on to have numerous appearances in Polish television shows, including prominent appearances such as Maria Jurewicz in the historical drama series Boza podszewka, Krystyna in the crime-action miniseries Ekstradycja 3.

For her contributions to Polish cinema and theatre, Danuta Stenka was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture‚ Gloria Artis’, by the Polish Ministry of Culture.
