Geri Halliwell was born on 6th August 1972, in Hertfordshire, England, to her father Laurence Francis Halliwell. She is also known as the Ginger Spice in all-girl, British pop group the Spice Girls. Later in 1988 Halliwell quit the group and started her solo career and her first album was Look at Me which sold more than 1 million copies worldwide.

Geraldine Estelle Halliwell, known as Geri was born and raised in Hertfordshire, England to her father Laurence Francis Helliwell, of English and Swedish descent. Halliwell attended the Watford Grammar school for girls and achieved A-level degree from Camden School for girls.
After graduating from her college, Geri Halliwell got into odd jobs such as a topless model, cage dancer at a club at Majorca and also a presenter on Turkish TV show Let's Make a Deal. At the age of 19, Geri appeared in The Sun as a Page 3 girl.

Career Path
Geri Halliwell, along with Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Victoria Beckham responded to an advertisement in The Stage magazine. Around 500 women answered the ad and auditioned at Dance Work studios where Halliwell, Chisholm, Brown and Beckham eventually became the member of the group along with Emma Bunton.
In 1995 the group began building their relationship with Simon Fuller and finally signed with him. During the summer of that year, the group toured their record label in many cities with Simon Fuller and later signed in with Virgin Records in September in 1995.
Later in 1996, Geri Halliwell and the group released their debut single Wannabe In U.K. Within a week of releasing the video of Wannabe got a trial airing on The Box music channel and the song proved to be global hit reaching number 1 in 29 countries, they became the biggest-selling by an all-female group of all time.
