American film and television actor, Billy Campbell is well known for his role as Rick Sammler on Once and Again and recently for his character Darren Richmond on the AMC television series The Killing. Billy is an excellent actor who has lighted both movies and television series through his presence. Till date Billy is a s sociated to Virginia Madsen and Jennifer Connelly. Billy does not have a long dating list but certain has a long relationship with both of these women. Billy has not married till now and does not have a baby with any of the above mentioned women. Even though his marital life is not s successful, we can undoubtedly say that he has had a triumphant acting career.
Billy was born as William Oliver “Billy” Campbell on 7th July 1959 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Billy’s parents went through a divorce when Billy was 2 years of age. Billy attended Fork Union Military academy and Western Albemarle High School. Campbell was highly enthusiastic about playing rugby and also played rugby with the Chicago Lions RFC and the Santa Monica Rugby club. Billy has once volunteered as an actor with the Young Storytellers Program. Billy made his first appearance in T.V. series in an episode of the hit 1980s sitcom Family Ties. Then in 1982, Billy acted in the movie How Sleep the Brave as character Strickner. Billy’s first high-flying role was that of Luke Fuller on Dynasty from 1984 to 1985. Later from 1986 to 1988 Campbell played a regular role as detective joey Indelli on NBC’s Crime Story. In 1988, Campbell acted as character Capt. Thadiun Okona in “The Outrageous Okona” episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation Then in 1991, Campbell starred in the retro sci-fi fantasy film The Rocketeer. In 1993, Billy acted in 12 episodes of Moon Over Miami. Campbell’s acting career came to its peak when he got the role of Rick Sammler on the ABC series Once and Again for which Campbell received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series and won a People’s Choice award for Favorite New Male Television Performer. In 2001, Billy performed in TV miniseries; Further Tales of the city for which he was nominated a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor –Series, Miniseries or Television Film. A year after that, Campbell played the role of a abusive father in Enough and in 2003 was seen in a made-for-TV movie The Stranger Beside Me as a serial killer named Ted Bundy. From 2004 to 2007, Billy acted as Jordan Collier in The 4400. From 2011-2012 and 2014 Campbell played a prominent role in the AMC’s The Killing as character Darren Richmond. In 2013 Billy acted as Abraham Lincoln in the TV Movie; Killing Lincoln.
Billy Campbell was named one of the “World’s 50 Most Beautiful People” by People magazine in 2000. Billy stands tall at the height of 6 feet 4 inches and has a well built body. Billy formerly had an affair with the blond actress Virginia Madsen whom he met in Chicago in 1981. Both of them decided to move to Hollywood to pursue their dream as actors and thus lived together in Pacific Palisades. The couple later separated in 1988. Virginia promptly married director Danny Huston after the two separated. In 1990 Campbell met actress Jennifer Connelly, 11 years his junior, on the set of The Rocketeer after which they fell in love and underwent a relationship. Campbell did not make Jennifer his wife; she was merely his girlfriend. Billy was rumored to be a little more possessive regarding Jennifer and Jennifer was cagey about marriage due to her parents’ divorce so she was not ready to settle down with him. Later the couple separated in 1995. It was rumored at the time that Billy swore that he would remain a bachelor forever. Billy Campbell is currently aged 55 and is still not married. It seems that he has not decided to get settled and have a family any time soon.
