The yoga teacher, Amanda Eller, who is found alive after seventeen days disappearing while hiking, is speaking up about her harrowing experience.
Thirty-five years old yoga instructor claimed that the last seventeen days of her life had been the toughest days of her life. She said that it has really been a significant spiritual journey that she was guided on.
In a video posted to AmandaEllersMissing Facebook page, Amanda spoke from her room at the Maui Memorial Medical Center with her boyfriend, Benjamin Konkol at her side, revealed that there were times of total fear and loss wanting to give up.
Amanda claimed that she chose life when everything came down to life and death.
Amanda added that seeing the way that the community of Maui came forward and together to help one person to make it out of the woods alive have warmed her heart.
According to the Facebook page launched for seeking help in the search, on Friday, the Haiku resident was seen deep in a forest by a group of rescuers who were hired by her family to track her down.
Amanda has extremely swollen and bruised feet and ankles, and her doctors revealed that she is suffering an orthopedic fracture and burns on her lower extremities.
As per the reports of NBC News, Dr. Zora Bulatovic from the Maui Memorial Medical Center said that Amanda was able to manage to stay hydrated drinking the water river and eating fruit from the trees.
Amanda lost on May 8 after failing to return home from a trail in the Makawao Forest Reserve.
Amanda got lost, was stuck, and slightly injured in the forest somewhere way far above Twin Falls where the rescuers found her.
