Albert Lincoln, better known as "Al" Roker Jr., is an American television personality, weather forecaster, actor, and book author. He is popular for being the weather anchor on NBC's Today.
Al Roker's broadcasting career
Al Roker began his broadcasting career as a weather anchor for When-TV, a division of CBS from 1974 to 1976. He then moved to work with NBC in 1978 at their WKYC-TV station in Cleveland. After a successful tenure of five years, Roker got an offer to join WNBC-TV at New York. In 1995, he owed the show called "The Al Roker Show", a talk-show held on CNBC, every weekend.
In 1996, Roker served as a weekday weather anchor on Today. He gained fame for weather reporting outside the studio and mingling with common people. In 2005, Roker was swept away by the powerful wind while reporting about Hurricane Wilma. The video of him holding to his cameraman while being stuck by the hurricane has been spread on Youtube.
Roker also served as the weather forecaster for several radio stations. He does a morning weather reporting and forecasting for 1 and a half hour from 5.30 to 7 am on a show called ‘Wake Up with Al’ on The Weather Channel. 62-year-old TV personality hosted many games shows such as "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and "Jeopardy! And Celebrity Family Feud".

He presented shows on Food Network channel like Roker on the Road, Tailgating, and Tricked-Out. 'The Morning Show Murders‘ and ‘The Midnight Show Murders’ are the books written by him which were released in 2010. He was also nominated for a Nero Award in 2011. Later, On November 2014, Al Roker set a Guinness World Record with a 34-hour nonstop live weather reporting.
