Vincent Kompany
Defender and midfielder Vincent Jean Mpoy Kompany is a Belgian footballer who is captain to both his current team Manchester city and Belgium national team. Vincent successfully managed to stay true to his captaincy by advancing Manchester City towards Premier League and ultimately conquering it. Vincent started his football career at an early age and he has now reached the heights thus being titled 23rd in The 100 best footballers in the world by The Guardian.
Early Life And Education Of Vicent Kompany
Born in Uccle in the nation Belgium on April 10, 1986, Vincent Kompany was drawn to football at the tender age of 6. He was born to father, Pierre Congolese, an immigrant who moved to Belgium and works as a sports agent and mother, Joseline Fraselle.
He grew up along with his sibling, Francois, a Belgian footballer, and Christel Kompany. Kompany is interested in politics and gained an MBA degree from the Alliance Manchester Business School in 2018. Vincent Kompany's Career
Vincent Kompany began his youth career at the Youth Academy at Belgian Club Anderlecht. By the age of 17 in 2000 Kompany entered Royal Sporting club Anderlecht (also known as Anderlecht) based in Anderlecht, Brussels.
Vincent made his international debut for Belgium in February 2004 against France. During his time there till 2006, Vincent played incredibly and earned many awards including the Belgian Golden Shoe in 2004, the Belgian Young Professional Footballer of the Year in both 2004 and 2005 and also the Belgian Ebony Shoe in both 2004 and 2005.
Kompany took part in the Belgian pro league. While in Anderlecht Vincent appeared in about 102 matches and delivered a total of 6 goals.
Then, on June 9, 2006, he was bought by Hamburger Sport-Verein e.V (also known as Hamburger SV) based in Hamburg for a transfer fee of 10 million euro. In his debut season for Hamburg he did not start well and then Vincent later suffered from Achilles tendon injury in November which is a kind of injury in the lower leg.
Thus most of Vincent’s matches were overruled. Although Vincent did not contribute much in the season, he was elected in a 30 man provisional squad for the 2007 UEFA European under 21 Football Championship.
Vincent also took part in the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007. Looking at Company’s excellent performances the Belgian Federation called him up for the 2008 Olympics. Hamburg primarily did not agree but after a heated discussion, Hamburg decided to discharge Vincent under the stipulation that he returned after Belgium’s first two group games.
This turned out to be the lowest point in his career when Belgium lost against Brazil and Kompany was ruled out of Belgium’s second group game with a red card.
On August 22, 2008, Vincent proudly entered Premier League club Manchester City from his prior club Hamburger SV with the transfer fee of 850 million euro on a four-year deal. Prior to his no.4 shirt, Vincent was given no.33 shirt.
Vincent gave his first debut in Manchester City against West Ham United. He scored his first goal for Manchester City on 28 September the same year with a 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic. Later on 28 December 2008, Vincent played the game with Blackburn Rovers as a holding midfielder and set the match at a draw with 2-2.
Looking at Vincent’s progress, Manchester City presented him a new five –year contract. Vincent’s second and third league goals both led to a win-win against Portsmouth and Burnley respectively. Having a height of 6 Ft 3 inches and a weight of 85 kg, a talented and versatile Vincent made it into the opening Premier League on August 14, 2010. In the same year on 25 September, Vincent delivered a victorious goal against Chelsea with a 1-0.
Vincent started the Premier League match against Manchester United on 12 February 2011 but unfortunately lost by just one goal. Vincent became the captain of Manchester City on 25 April in the same year and won a game against Blackburn Rovers.

In the next 2011-12 Premier League season under Vincent’s captaincy, Manchester city won the title with the final game against Queens Park Rangers in a 3-2 goal. Vincent delivered a fantastic header and contributed on the win.
For the season he won awards like Premier League Player of the Year, PFA Premier League Team of the Year. Manchester city also won the FA Community Shield in 2012. Vincent signed a six-year contract with Manchester City on July 25.
On 11 May 2014, Vincent scored the second goal for Manchester City against West Ham United with 2-0 thus winning the 2013 -14 Premier League title. Vincent was seen on sports news continuously and immediately after the epic win, many pictures of Vincent hitting the town wearing a City scarf with his spouse Carla were seen.
City won the Football League Cup in 2013-2014 and also was titled PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
