US- Bangla Plane Crashes at Nepal’s Kathmandu Airport. 67 Passengers on Board, 17 Rescued

Very devasting news of a plane crash at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu is making rounds on the internet. 

The plane operated by US- Bangla, Bangladeshi airlines had 67 passengers on board along with 4 crew members.

Announced regarding the identification

According to the reports from the country’s capital Press Association, the Bangladeshi airlines veered off the runway on Monday afternoon causing a blaze.

The authorities have reported rescuing 22 people on the board out of which 11 are Nepalese citizens and 11 are Bangladeshi citizens claiming 49 deaths. Although an official confirmation has not been announced regarding the identification, it is believed that the plane was S2-AGU, a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400.

The flight-tracking website, FlightRaider24 has suborned the data when the flight landed at Tribhuvan international airport where they marked that landing at 14:20 local time (08: 35 GMT).

A fresh report on the crash suggests some misunderstanding between the pilot and the control room. A recording of the conversation between the pilot and air traffic control minutes before the crash suggests some misunderstanding over which end of the sole runway the plane was cleared to land on.

 70 crashes including planes 

The land of the Himalayas has seen 70 crashes including planes and helicopters since 1949. 

All the flights in and out have been canceled for the time being as reported by the local newspaper, Kathmandu Post.
