Two Teen Boys Arrested In Utah For Stealing An Airplane And Flying It Around Utah
Two teens were arrested at Vernal Regional Airport on Thursday, 22nd November for allegedly stealing a plane from a private airstrip, said Uintah County Sheriff's Office.
The boys, aged 14 and 15 allegedly stole a tractor which they took to an airstrip near Jensen where they stole a single-engine Cessna airplane which they flew across Utah. The Uintah County Sheriff's office informed about the incident in a Facebook post.
The Uintah County Sheriff's office wrote in a news release:
The plane was witnessed flying very low along US-40 near Gusher, Uintah County, about 32 miles west of Jensen.
It further wrote,
Based on information obtained by investigators, the teens mentioned flying back towards the Wasatch Front, but decided not to and returned to Vernal where they landed at the airport.
Police reported that the duo has been held in a youth detention at the Split Mountain Youth center and booked with multiple felony charges.
