Werner is German professional football player born on 6th March 1996 in Stuttgart to father Gunter Schuh and mother Sabine Werner. He was raised in Bad Canstatt near the Stuttgart's Mercedez Benz Arena and was inspired by his father to play football who himself was once a winger for FC Ludwigsburg.
In his early years, he joined his hometown club VFB Stuttgart and represented the club at various youth level. On 26 September Werner became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to play 100 matches at the age of just 20 years. He scored his debut goal against Hamburg SV on matchday 3 of 2016/17 campaign.

Werner represented Germany at various level of youth football and was considered prodigy of German Football since his teen days. In 48 matches at the junior level, he scored 34 goals. His first hattrick for German U-15 came against Poland. Werner's first international appearance came against England. Werner was selected by Coach Joachim Low for 2017 Confederation Cup held in Russia. Germany lined a very young team for the Cup but in spite of that they won the tournament and Werner became the star and won the Golden Boot with three goals and two a s sists to his name.
