Tiger woods releases a public statement post arrest for DUI

Golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on the charge of ‘driving under influence’.

The incident took place on Monday morning and charges of alcohol consumption and drugs were made on woods.

Later he was released around 3 am from Palm Beach County jail. After his release from the jail, he released a statement.

"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.  I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved.  What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.  I didn't realize the mix of medications affected me so strongly."

Woods added "I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends, and the fans.  I expect more from myself, too.  I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.

I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Dept. and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office for their professionalism."

According to reports by TMZ, when Wood's girlfriend Kristin Smith knew about his arrest she was at Dallas doing some shopping. A phone call from her friend let her know about the arrest and she went crazy. She started crying and bought merchandise worth $5k and left.
