Dennis M. Keefe, who was born on October 5, 1952, has died at the age of 66 on May 17, 2019. He died after suffering an advanced-stage melanoma in Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga.

Dennis, who loved being journalist especially for radio, began his radio journalism career taking a time slot which few others would want--- the overnight shift.

Besides his radio journalism career, Dennis also had an amazing acting career performing in numerous local theater productions and a couple of feature movies.

Dennis’ wife claimed that he was also a voice-over artist, a hopeless golfer, and a proud grandfather.

Dennis was a Buffalo native who graduated from Bishop Timon High School in 1970 before attending Siena College for two years and following two years at SUNY Buffalo State graduating in 1974.

While studying at Siena, he started his journalism career as a news reporter on the overnight shift.

After graduation, Dennis started working as a line haul coordinator for a trucking company but found his way back to journalism, the field he loved.

Dennis and his wife first met in 1979 while she began working as an editor at WEBR-AM. After dating for around four years, the couple got married in 1984. The pair had a son Nathan together.

Dennis was survived by his wife, son, two brothers (William and Thomas), three sisters (Patricia, Mary, and Maureen), and a grandson.

A Memorial Ma s s will be organized in St. Stephen Catholic Church, Baseline Road, Grand Island, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
