The 'Jersey Shore' reunion? Jersey Shore residents are not amused
No one really expected this to happen, but it's true and official now- The “Jersey Shore” cast is finally reuniting after nearly 5 long years!
Cast members of the sensational MTV show were spotted in Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park, N.J. the last month with camera crews, according to the Asbury Park Press.
One of the cast members, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi also posted a tease to the reunion show last month on Instagram. Other staunch star casts of the show, Jenni Farley, Mike Sorrentino and Vinny Gaudagnino were seen filming as well.
Another cast member, Mike “The Situation” also posted a picture hinting about the reunion on his Instagram on 7th July.
And, as it might be predicted, numerous actual Jersey Shore residents are horrified.
An MTV spokesperson told the Asbury Park Press that the show was not a part of a project with MTV.

Not everyone has been really welcoming to the reunion show. The producers of the show wanted to shoot inside the Langosta Lounge restaurant on the Asbury Park boardwalk, but management declined.
The entertainment director of the same lounge, Peter Mantas said
“They called 10 days before they wanted to film and we said no freaking way. Bring those meatheads to the Langosta Lounge? No way.”

After hearing about the reunion news, some residents expressed dismay too. Seaside Heights’ resident Letisha Johnson said
“The show had some potential at first, but they are a complete disgrace to the state, and they shouldn't be here at all. Frankly, I'm surprised that they are actually coming back to the Shore with some of the cast members in legal trouble and such.”
Despite the "Jersey Shore" cast members' bizarre (and sometimes illegal) behavior, the show was a huge success in terms of ratings. The third season premiere of the show scored 8.4 million viewers — making it MTV's most-watched telecast of all time.

Even with the rumors around, MTV had remained tight-lipped about the news of the reunion of the show. The network is reportedly busy in the region with another rebooted MTV, “MTV Beach House”, which is also rumored filming at the shore as well.
