Texas Couple Has Accused Top U.S. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo Of Mishandling A Sexual Misconduct Case.

The Texas couple, who accused the top U.S. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of mishandling the sexual misconduct case, is claiming that the church is mistreating them the way it mistreats other victims.

Daniel’s Galveston-Houston said that that it categorically rejects the story about the case as one-sided and biased. He claimed that the pair fabricated quotes and demanded $10 million payouts.

When Cardinal Daniel DiNardo first met Laura Pontikes in December 2016 in his wood-paneled conference room, the U.S. Catholic Church’s leader response to its sex abuse scandal claiming all the right things.

He even praised her for moving forward to report that his deputy in Galveston-Houston archdiocese manipulated her into a sexual relationship. He then declared her victim of the priest.

The Associated Press obtained several emails and other doc u ments which show that the relationship had gone for years. The priest even heard her confessions, counseled her husband, and also pressed for hundreds to thousands of dollars in donations.

Laura claimed that the deputy took sexual as well as the financial advantage of problems in her marriage and the business the pair share.

The woman said that the archdiocese a s sured her that priest Monsignor Frank Rossi would never counsel woman or be a pastor.
