American retired professional wrestling manager and television host Terri Runnels was arrested for bringing a loaded handgun into the airport on Wednesday.

Runnels was arrested at 7:30 AM for carrying a concealed firearm by the Tampa International Airport Police. She was arrested at the security checkpoint with a loaded Glock 9mm.

The cops said that the weapon was inside of a sock located in her backpack. They said:

We count at least 11 bullets -- which appear to be hollow-tipped, which tend to cause more soft tissue damage upon impact with a target. In other words, it's a more lethal round.

Runnels was then taken to the prison, and bond was set at $2,000. Records reported that she is still locked up.

The charge consists of punishment of up to $5 thousand in fines and up to five years in prison.

On defend, Runnels claimed that she had just been called to her mother’s house to deal with an armadillo that was digging up the yard, and is the only reason behind carrying the gun.

Runnels then explained that she simply forgot that she had a gun on her when she went to the airport claiming that the whole thing was a genuine mistake.

She has previously worked as a manager to wrestling stars like Edge, The Hardy Boyz, Christian, and her ex-husband Goldust.

Runnels was previously married to Goldust from 1993 to 1999.

Besides this, she is also known for winning the WWE Hardcore Championship back in 2002. She is one of only four women to win the title.
