Tarek Hamed

Tarek Hamed is a professional football player who as of 2018 plays as a defensive midfielder for the National Football Team of Egypt

and the Egyptian sports club, Zamalek SC. He wears jersey number 3. His impressive control of the ball in the midfield got him the nickname El-Lewan.

Early Life And Education 

Professional soccer player Tarek Hamed was born on 24 October 1988 in Cairo, Egypt.  

From his childhood, he was passionate about playing football. To fulfill his ambition he joined the youth academy of Talet’ea El-Gaish SC.

Tarek Hamed's Career 

In 2009, Hamed got the chance to play in the first team of Talat'ea El-Gaish SC following his impressive performance at the junior level. 

On 1st July 2010, Hamed moved to Smouha and became the key player of the team under the management of Hamada Sedki. When he was a member of the team, it held the second position in both the Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup. 

Tarek as a midfielder

After making 57 appearances Hamed left the club. On September 8, 2014, Hamed signed a deal with Zamalek for a fee of £630K. Altogether he has played 97 games and scored 2 goals for the club.

Due to his good performance as a midfielder, his supporters nicknamed him El-Lewaa which means Major-general. Moreover, on March 3, 2018, he extended his contract with the club until 2021 i.e. for 3 years.

Represented national team at World Cup Qualification

Hamed received his first international cap on the 7th of March 2013 under the coach, Bob Bradley in a 3-1 win against Qatar.

Being a key player he also has represented his national team at World Cup Qualification, International Friendlies as well as Africa Cup of Nations. Hamed along with Omar Gaber, Saad Samir, and Ali Gabr was called up for the matches against Greece and Portugal in March 2018.
