CCTV is the short abbreviation for China Central Television or Chinese Central Television. It is the predominant state television broadcaster in mainland China. The CCTV network has a list of 45 channels broadcasting different programs. CCTV is accessible to more than one billion viewers. Most of its program includes the mixture of documentary, comedy, entertainment and drama among which majority consists of Chinese soap operas and entertainment. CCTV has the largest number of television sub channels in the world having 45 channels where 22 are for free and remaining 23 for pay-vision. CCTV was founded in the year 1958 September 2 whose headquarter lies in Beijing, China. The president of the network is Jiao Li. The network has the operating income of RMB 1.12 billion having approximately 10,000 employees. The Network is considered as one of the big three media outlets in China. The CCTV falls under the supervision of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television which is the subordinate to the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. The Vice Minister of the state council serves as the chairman of the CCTV network.
