AIDS stands for Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. It is a disease where the body loses its cellular immunity over time, greatly lowering the resistance to diseases and malignancy. AIDS is not something that is genetic. It is acquired. It is acquired after being infected from HIV Virus through unsafe sex. Unsafe sex is the first major cause of AIDS, while other reasons can be through blood transfusions of HIV infected one, hypodermic needles and from mother to child during pregnancy, delivery or breast feeding or through body fluids.  However, it is not transferred from other by general physical touching like hugs, handshakes, etc. but care must be taken whilst being around such persons. When you have AIDS, your immune system or resistance power becomes so weak that you are prone to any diseases and never get recovered from it causing the reason of your death. HIV/AIDS is considered as one of the fatal diseases in human era whose antidote or medication has not been found yet. It has adversely affected the socio-economic aspect of the world. AIDS was first discovered in USA in 1981. Till now AIDS has engulfed over 36 million people worldwide. People are being made aware for the use of condom for the sake of reducing HIV AIDS in case people happen to have sex with HIV infected one will save them from having this disease. Although it is not 100% but it is 80% effective.
