The American journalist and author Susan Swain, 62, is co-president and chief executive officer of C-SPAN, the cable industry’s public affairs network. Since December 2006 Susan held this position and shares accountability for all day-to-day operations of the public affairs cable network. She has 4,793 videos in the C-SPAN Video Library.

Early Life and Education

Susan Swain was born on December 23, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Susan belongs to American nationality and as far as her ethnicity is concerned, she is a White American. She has done her schooling from her birth place Philadelphia.

In her final years of college, Susan avoided cla s ses to work at the local CBS base. She eventually made her way to Washington and began working with C-SPAN in the year 1982. She received a B.A. in communications from the University of Scranton and worked for the University as an administrator.

Susan Swain has also been an on-air interviewer for C-SPAN for more than twenty-five years. She is a frequent moderator for Washington Journal, C-SPAN’s morning call-in/interview program. Susan then began working for C-SPAN as a producer when C-SPAN programmed just one channel on a part-time basis. She has spent much of her career at C-SPAN. Furthermore, she is active in journalism and in the cable industry. She was an establishing board part of the Cable Television Public Affairs Association.
