Shane Van Dyke is an actor, screenwriter, and director credited to movies like Chernobyl Diaries, The Silence, and Titanic ll. Also, he is widely known as the son of an American actor Barry Van Dyke and grandson of  Dick Van Dyke.

Shane Thomas Van Dyke was born in Los Angeles, California, the United States, on August 28, 1979. He was born to Barry Van Dyke and Mary Carey Van Dyke. Also, he is the grandson of Dick Van Dyke and nephew of Carrie Beth van Dyke and Stacy Van Dyke. He was raised alongside Carey Van Dyke, his elder brother, Taryn Van Dyke, his younger sister, and Wes Van Dyke.

Shane began his acting career at the age of 14 in the TV series Diagnosis Murder (1997-2001), continuing a family heritage. Following that, he starred in Diagnosis Murder: Without Warning (2002) and went on to star in some television shows and films, including The Bold and The Beautiful (2003), Arizona Summer (2004), and others.

In a series of Hallmark Channel Original Movies dubbed Murder 101, he teamed with his grandfather, Dick, and Barry (2007-2008). His filmography also includes Shark Swarm (2008), Transmorphers: Fall of Man (2009), Paranormal Entity (2009), and 6 Guns (2009).  Shane played Hayden Wals (the ship's owner) in Titanic I in 2010. Finally, in 2011, he acted in the film Super Shark, in which he played a character named Greg.

The American actor made his directorial debut with the film Paranormal Entity (2009). However, he has only directed a few movies, including 6 Guns (2010), Titanic II (2010), and A Haunting in Salem (2010).
