Sergio Aguero

The Argentine professional footballer, Sergio Leonel "Kun" Agüero, currently plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentine national team. He started his career at the age of nine on July 5, 2003, from the Independiente, becoming the youngest player to play in the Argentine Primera Division. 

Early Life Of Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero is an Argentine football player who was born on 2nd June 1988 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He plays for Manchester City, Argentina national team and also for Premier League club as a striker.

He played his debut game in 2003, 5th July when he was 15 years old in Argentine Primera Division by breaking the record of Diego Maradona in 1976.

Sergio Aguero's Early Career

Sergio Aguero's career started at the age of nine; he joined the youth system of Independiente. He started playing for the side becoming the youngest player making his debut in the division at the age of 15.

Despite his early debut, he was not selected again by Ruggeri, and his replacement Osvaldo Sosa, for the remainder of 2002–03 season, having made only one appearance in the Torneo Clausura.

He had represented Argentina under- 20 teams at international level at FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2005 and also in 2007 by winning both the tournaments. In 2008 he had played for Beijing at 2008 Beijing for which the country had won the gold medal. Then he was selected to represent Argentina in 2010 FIFA World Cup and also in 2011 Copa America.

After that in 2006, he moved to Europe to play for La Liga side and the cost €23 million from the Independiente. He made his high position by scoring 101 goals in 234 appearances and by winning UEFA Europa League and also UEFA Super Cup in 2010.

Then in 2011, he moved to Premier League club Manchester City. In 2012 he was voted by his fans as the Manchester City’s player of the year. He then became the Manchester City’s highest goalscorer by scoring 13 goals in European competition.   

Sergio Aguero's Club Career

Independiente

When Sergio was at the age of nine he had joined the youth system of Independiente. He was the youngest player who played for the side. He was sent by his coach Oscar Ruggeri in the 69th minute of the match as a substitute for Emanuel and his performance was very well. But unfortunately, he was not selected for the season 2002-03 seasons. After the seven months of his first match when his next coach arrived he returned to his club’s first team i.e he then became the younger player and participated in 2004 Copa Libertadores where he held the record for three years.

In 19th June for the first time, he played the full match of 90 minutes for Independiente against the Atletico de Rafaela during Torneo Clausura. He had also been selected for Argentina U-20 squad for 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in which Argentina won the game. In 2005-06 seasons he had scored 18 goals in 36 league appearances and also had missed two games because of the suspension.

In 2-0 away victory against the Olimpo de Bahia Blanca in the 17th round of Torneo Clausura he received his 5th yellow card of the season. Because of which he couldn’t play the last game for Independiente against the Boca Juniors. Then after two weeks, he played the last game for the Independiente. He officially transferred to Atletico Madrid on 30th May for 20 million Euros.

Atletico Madrid

Aguero joined the Atletico Madrid club in May 2006. At the age of 19, he became the team’s most important player. In 2007-08 seasons he secured third highest scorer with 19 goals in La Liga behind Luis Fabiano and Daniel Guiza. In March 2008 for his man of the match display against FC Barcelona, he had won many plaudits. He had scored first Champions League goals 3-0 on 16th September at PSV.

He had also scored twice against the Chelsea during the 2-2 draw in the Champions League on 3rd November at Vicente Calderon. He had helped Atletico to reach the final of Copa del Rey but unfortunately, they did not win the game.

He had also worked with Manchester City. On 28th July 2008, he had signed a five-year contract with the club. On 15th August 2011, he had debuted for the city in 4-0 against the Swansea City. He had also played many games for the City. Aguero had scored a penalty in 3-1 at home to Newcastle United on 19th November.

Sergio Aguero's net worth is $80 million at present. He has earned an annual salary of $23.5 million from his successful playing career. His current market value is $90.7 million.

He has represented Argentina in many tournaments including the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2011 Copa América, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa América, and the Copa América Centenario, reaching the finals of the latter three tournaments. 

He moved to Europe to play for La Liga side  Atlético Madrid, for a transfer fee of $26.08 million and made a name for himself, attracting attention from Europe's top clubs by scoring 101 goals in 234 appearances while winning the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010.

Agüero moved to Premier League club Manchester City in July 2011 for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of $44.8 million.

Sergio Aguero's Personal Life: Marriage, Divorce, Market Value And "Banana" Incident.

Aguero got married to Giannina Maradona who is the youngest daughter of the Argentine football legend named Diego Maradona. The couple had their first child named Benjamin on 19th February 2009. But unfortunately, the couple got separated in January 2013.

Their son lives with his mother in Buenos Aires in Argentina. Recently in an incident during Barcelona win Dani Alves one of the defenders of Barcelona was thrown a banana by a racist audience and Dani just ate the banana to make things lighter.

Aguero has also amongst very many other people stood up in support of Dani. He posted a picture of himself eating a banana.
