Gloria Katz, famous as American Graffiti screenwriter and Star Wars script doctor died. The Oscar-nominated screenwriter pa s sed away on Sunday, 25th November. She was 76.
Katz died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment confirmed her death in a tweet on its official account,

Katz and her husband co-wrote 1973's American Graffiti. The movie won the Academy award as well as New York Film Critics Circle Award for best screenplay, and the National Society of Film Critics Award.
The husband-and-wife duo penned several film scripts together including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Lucky Lady, Messiah of Evil, Best Defense, French Postcards. She is also known for her service for the board of the Writers Guild of America.
Actor Lea Thompson, who starred in Howard the Duck payed the tribute to the late playwright on Twitter where she wrote: "My friend Gloria Katz just pa s sed away."
