After years of denial, the eldest child and only son of Princess Elena of Romania and Robin Medforth-Mills, Nicholas Medforth-Mills, has revealed that he has a three years old daughter with Nicoleta Cirjan.

Thirty-four years old Nicholas took his Facebook to reveal that he fathered a child with Nicoleta. He had previously denied having any relationship with her. A paternity test has confirmed his parentage.

Nicholas wrote:

As a result of my insistence on the test of establishing the paternity of my alleged child, Ms. Nicoleta Cîrjan accepted the realization. The result was positive, thinking I was her child’s father.

He added:

Given the context in which this child came to the world, the fact that I did not have a relationship with my mother, I a s sumed legal responsibility for it.

Nicholas explained the reasons behind keeping it secret, was to protect the best interests of the child. He considers that any aspect of life is of a strictly private nature.

Nicoleta responded to the Facebook post “27th May 2019” claiming that the day could really not be more surprising than that. She contended that patience and confidence with truth will always win.

Nicholas was removed from the succession line of the symbolic Romanian throne back in 2015. Reports suggested that he was removed due to the scandal.

In the statement released by Nicholas, he accepted the decision.

Nicholas is currently married to Alina Maria Binder. The couple got engaged on 29 July 2017 before being married civilly on 6 October 2017, in Henley-on-Thames.
