Early Life and Education

Roberto Martinez was born in Balaguer, Spain Roberto Martínez Montoliú. This 43-year-old coach was born on 13 July 1973. Martinez was raised in Lleida, Catalonia along with his family. Martinez belongs to Native decent and his ethnicity is White.

Career

Roberto Martinez made his playing career debut from the Real Zaragoza B team in 1991. Martinez spent his first three seasons playing for the youth team in the club. In 1993, Martinez made his debut for the first team in La Liga against Atletico Madrid.

In 1995, Martinez moved to English club Wigan Athletic on a free transfer. Martinez remained in the club for six years appearing in 187 matches scoring 17 goals. In 1995-96 seasons he scored 13 goals in all competitions for the club and was also named in the Division Three PFA Team of the Year. In 2002, he joined English club Walsall F.C. Martinez joined English club Swansea City in 2003 and played 122 games scoring 4 goals. Martines before retiring from his professional career, he played for Chester City.

Roberto Martinez started his coaching career at his former club in 2007. Martinez remained in the club for two seasons until 2009. Later he moved to another English club Wigan Athletic and coached the team for four years.

In 2013, Martinez joined English Club Everton, as head coach. Martinez remained in the club for three seasons and under his reign, the club did very well also club maintained super fantastic form. Currently, Martinez is a head coach of the Belgium Nation team. Martinez has also appeared in the ESPN as analysts during the coverage of FIFA World Cup 2010 and 2014.

Roberto Martinez’s current relationship status is married and his sexual orientation is straight. Martinez married his Scottish girlfriend Beth Thompson in 2009.

The couple married at St Joseph's Cathedral in Swansea in a private wedding function following traditional Catholic wedding. Martinez and his current wife meet in Scotland while Martinez was playing for Motherwell in 2002. Martinez has a daughter named Luella.
