Reason Why 'Bachelor In Paradise' Couple Riley Christian & Maurissa Gun Called Off Engagement? Relationship Details Here!

by David,

Only after 3 months of historic engagement on the ABC reality show Bachelor In Paradise, Riley Christian and Maurissa Gun became bachelors again. In January 2022, the new year hit off rocks in the couple's relationship, which set the show's history as the first-ever black couple to get engaged.

Rumors of their break-up began to surface after the reality star wiped off each other's photos from social media earlier this year; it turned out to be true later as they confirmed their separation in a joint statement. So, why did they break up? More on their dating story & relationship update here.

Maurissa Gun and Riley Christian Are Not Together Anymore- Called Off Engagement!!

One of the most-speculated couples in Season 7 of 'Bachelor In Paradise', Gun and Christian went through a series of Instagram & Twitter cryptic posts regarding their break-up before confirming it on January 24, 2022. In a joint statement to People Magazine, the ex-fiances stated that they had split up a couple of weeks ago ahead of releasing the official heart-breaking news.

Last October, the former couple who met in the ABC reality series became the first-ever black couple to get engaged in the season finale (on October 5, 2021). Other constants to get engaged in the shows were Joe Amabile & Serena Pitt; and Kenny Braasch & Mariela "Mari" Pepin.

Even more, the Atlanta, Georgia-born Patient Care Coordinator moved in together with Riley Christian in New York City; she visited Christain's hometown Detriot while the attorney celebrated their first Thanksgiving together with Gun's family.

However, their relationship was not meant to be a fairy tale that fans wished for. After 3 months of their engagement that aired on the reality series, the Bachelor In Paradise stars called quits.

As for a fact, they are not the only couples who started 2022 by tearing their relationship apart. Hoda Kotb, the host of NBC show Today broke up with her fiance of 8 years, Jole Schiffman, on January 31.

Signs Of Break-Up Began To Surface In Late 2020

Perhaps social media has become one of the major indicators of updates of a celebrity's love life- not to mention, eagle-eyed fans leave no stones unturned. Fans began to speculate that Maurissa Gun, 25, deleted all of her posts with Christian including a snap from the Christmas holiday they spent together.

By late December 2020, she made Tweets indicating the turmoil in her relationship; she wrote "Sometimes you just have to see people for who they are, and not the potential they have". Even more, the Miss Teen Montana was sharing Instagram videos of herself without her engagement ring by early January.

On the counter, the 31-year-old New York attorney made a Tweet on January 6, 2021, stating 'not be stagnant when facing obstacles that are beyond one's control'- more like a reply to Gun's post. Also, most of his pictures with Maurissa began to vanish.

And after a day, the two confirmed the end of their relationship, Riley, on January 25, deleted his Facebook profile picture of his engagement moment with Maurissa (probably the last one he removed).

Reason For Split Of Maurissa and Riley?

Despite the dramatic streak of social media hints at dimming romance, none of them ever confirmed the actual reason for their break-up. Moreover, in their joint statement, they wrote "We have decided to go our separate ways. Never did we imagine this, but we've come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves."

The former reality TV couple even addressed fans & media curiosity about their decision to part ways & asked them to 'respect their privacy.' Probably, the answer, for now, as per fans could be their 'untold' irreconcilable differences.

Are They Dating Anyone?

Neither of the former flames (Riley or Maurissa) seems to be dating anyone currently as of 2022. Rather, both are allegedly in the phase of recovery from the relationship trauma & focusing on their career plans.
