Peter Mansbridge of CBC News Reads His Final Edition of ‘The National’

The anchor of CBC’S ‘the national’, Peter Mansbridge bid a final goodbye to his anchoring career in CBC.

 On Friday saying ‘it has been quite the ride’ he anchored for the final time.

 Also making a brief reference about quitting his regular newscast.

The statement from him was “Thanks for watching all these years, it's been quite the ride for me, but always a privilege to be a part of bringing the national story home to you from wherever that story may be. I can only hope you found it worthwhile, too. Goodbye."

He made this statement at the end of an hour-long show. In an interview, he expressed that he did not want to make a huge fuss about him going off air and anchoring for the last time.

Mansbridge who is 68 had announced his retirement plans last year. Well, CBC paid tribute to Mansbridge’ 50 years in the network and has not made any decisions on who will be replacing him.
