Pensioner, 77, Appears In Court Charged With the Killing Of His Six-Years-Old Great Grandson.

The 77 Years OldAlbert Grannon appeared in the court to face charge over accidentally killing his six-years-old great-grandson after being shot with an air rifle. 

The six-years-old, Stanley Metcalf was shot in the stomach while the boy was in a visit to his great-grandparents at their home.

At the time of the incident, the police officer described the situation calling it,

'tragic accident involving a pellet airgun'

After following the lengthy investigation, Albert was charged and was summoned to Hull Magistrates' Court on Sunday, April 2 where a district judge pa s sed the case on to the crown court.

As per the District Judge Fred Rutherford,

You are charged with two offences from the 26th of July. You can only be dealt with at the crown court. 'You are given unconditional bail to appear at Hull Crown Court.

The 77 years old only confirmed his name, nationality, and address during the hearing of one minute. 

The tragic incident occurred while the boy was in a visit to his great grandparents Albert and Jennifer Grannon in East Yorkshire village of Sproatley. Following the incident, he was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead after 90 minutes

Well, the Grannon will appear at Hull Crown Court on June 3, till that date he is released on bail.
