Forty-one years old Pennsylvania psychotherapist had just checked into her room with husband, Daniel Werner. The pair was looking for a relaxing trip to celebrate their ninth anniversary, but they did not get the chance to do so.

Now, Miranda’s family are searching for the reason behind the death as just five days after her sudden death; an engaged couple was also found unresponsive in their room at the same hotel.

Daniel’s brother-in-law Jay McDonald said:

Daniel and all of us are in a state of disbelief, we are shocked. She was perfectly content; everything seemed fine.

Speaking to the outlet, Jay said that the pair planned to spend five days in the Dominican Republic. The couple was pleased by the island and resort right the minute they arrived.

As the couple was getting situated in their hotel room, Jay claimed that Miranda decided to relax with a drink from the minibar. She mixed the bottle of alcohol with a soda.

Just within less than an hour later, she was unable to breathe and collapsed. She was not able to communicate. Daniel did his best to resuscitate to help her, but he could not save her.

After attempting CPR, Daniel called for help. When the paramedics arrived, the team administered an epinephrine injection. Despite all those efforts, Miranda was declared dead soon after.

While their family was dealing with her mysterious death, Jay claimed they learned that Edward Nathaniel Holmes and Cynthia Ann Day also died the same hotel just five days after Miranda.

Jay noted the reason for Miranda’s death was respiratory failure and pulmonary edema. The same reasons were listed as the cause of death of the couple from Maryland.
