English actor Paul Darrow, who is widely known for appearing in Blake’s 7, Doctor Who, and Emmerdale, has died at the age of 78. It has been confirmed that he died after battling a short illness.
A spokesman for Jack FM confirmed that he died on Monday morning after following a sudden illness.
His longtime friend Maureen Marrs described knowing Darrow is a privilege. She claimed that the world would be a darker place without him.
Back in 2014, Darrow had an aortic aneurysm, and due to complications during the treatment, surgeons had amputated both his legs.
Darrow, who had appeared in over 200 television shows, took to the stage at Bristol Old Vic.
Darrow has appeared in numerous television series and shows like Emergency – Ward 10, Within These Walls, The Saint, Dixon of Dock Green, Z-Cars, The Legend of Robin Hood, Toast of London, Little Britain, and many others.
